Denise Miller Nominated for Kalamazoo Public Library Board of Trustees Vacancy
The Ad Hoc Trustee Vacancy Sub-Committee of the Kalamazoo Public Library Board of Trustees met in a public session this evening to discuss applicants for the vacant Trustee seat . Chair Chris Kindy invited the two other sub-committee members (Anna Moss and Jennifer Moore) to discuss how they scored the applications and who their top candidates were. The candidates were assigned numbers and discussed anonymously. Candidates 1, 3, and 7 all received top scores from at least two of the sub-committee members. Once they had three finalists, the sub-committee members discussed each of them individually. Ultimately, there was a clear consensus that they all felt "candidate 3" was the most qualified, in part because of that candidate's DEI experience and the fact that the library is currently seeking a DEI officer .
