Kalamazoo Events for December 8 to 15
- Wednesday, December 8 at 5 to 6 p.m. - God's Kitchen of Michigan serves a FREE dinner to the community at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Rd., off W. Main St. across from Drive & Shine car wash. The evening's menu includes Parmesan encrusted tilapia fish or chicken, broccoli, au gratin potatoes, dessert, and bottled water. Meals are carry out only, limit one per person. Face coverings are recommended.
- Thursday, December 9 at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. - City of Kalamazoo surplus assets public auction on-line through Biddergy.
- Thursday, December 9 at 5 to 7 p.m. - Kalsee Credit Union open job interviews at their new Milwood branch , 3121 Portage St. at Cork St. Here are their current openings.
- Friday, December 10 at 4 p.m. - Crafted Copper craft cocktail bar grand opening at 4520 Stadium Dr. in University Commons shopping plaza. This is the former location of Radio Shack, Craft Draft 2 Go beer pub, and Malloy’s Irish Pub whiskey ladder bar. Crafted Copper appears to be owned by Treystar, the property developer that owns the adjacent Revel & Roll West bowling alley and bar as well as the entire University Commons shopping plaza.
- Saturday, December 11 at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Customer Appreciation Day at Perry Harley-Davidson motorcycles, 5331 S. Sprinkle Rd., 1/3 mile south of Kilgore Rd. next to Sprinkle Road Laundry. FREE coffee, Meijer doughnuts, Domino's pizza at lunchtime, tabletop miniature curling game, complementary gift wrapping in Harley-Davidson paper, and photographs with Santa Claus and his Harley-Davidson powered sleigh from noon to 2 p.m. Perry Harley-Davidson claims to be Michigan's oldest motorcycle dealership.
- Monday, December 13 at 9 a.m. - The new Kalsee Credit Union Milwood branch opens to the public at 3121 Portage St., at the Cork St. corner. The current 2501 Millcork St. location will become a corporate headquarters only.
- Monday, December 13 at 6 p.m. - I thought the Kalamazoo City Commission was supposed to hold its first public budget meeting (100% virtual), but I see no listing of this work session on their meeting schedule. Maybe they won't publicly list the meeting until this Friday. In the meantime, here is the 2022 Proposed Budget and 2022 Capital Improvement Program list.
